Jordian Pacheco Guilty of Child Sexual Abuse, Albuquerque NM, 2021

In a disturbing case of child exploitation, Jordian Pacheco, a 33-year-old man from the Pueblo of Santo Domingo, has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl on the Navajo Nation.

According to court documents, Pacheco met the victim online and began communicating with her via phone, email, and social media platforms. He then drove to her residence, located within the Navajo Nation, when her mother was not home and engaged in sexual intercourse and other sexual acts with the minor.

Pacheco, who was 29 years old at the time, did not disclose his true age to the victim, knowing she was only 14 years old. The Navajo Police Department received a call from the victim’s mother about a man hiding in her closet, leading to Pacheco’s initial arrest and detention.

During an interview with the FBI, Pacheco confessed to engaging in sexual acts with the victim and lying to her about his age. The Gallup Resident Agency of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office investigated the case with assistance from the Navajo Police Department.

U.S. Attorney Alexander M.M. Uballez and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, made the announcement today. Assistant United States Attorney Caitlin L. Dillon is prosecuting the case.

Pacheco faces 63 to 78 months in prison and will be subject to not less than five years and up to life of supervised release upon his release from prison. He must also register as a sex offender. The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of online exploitation and the importance of vigilance in protecting our children.
