A St. Louis felon has been handed a significant sentence for his involvement in a string of crimes. Jordin White, 24, of St. Louis, was sentenced to 97 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey on Tuesday.
White’s troubles began on April 29, 2024, when detectives with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department Anti-Crime Task Force spotted him in a stolen Chrysler 300. A firearm magazine was protruding from the pocket of his shorts, prompting officers to detain him. Upon further investigation, they found a .45-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun in his pocket, as well as an AR-style pistol loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition in the car.
In addition to the firearms, officers discovered a large amount of cash, a scale, and 107 capsules containing fentanyl and cocaine base. This was not White’s only run-in with the law, as he was seen on June 5, 2024, in an Audi A4 on a parking lot, conducting hand-to-hand transactions with unknown individuals. Despite being spike-stripped by police, White drove off in the Audi until he lost control of the car and abandoned it.
White then fled on foot while holding a Glock handgun equipped with a large-capacity drum magazine loaded with 32 rounds of ammunition. Officers also found six knotted baggies containing 127.98 grams of marijuana. The evidence against White was overwhelming, and he pleaded guilty in March to three felony counts: possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute cocaine base, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department investigated the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorney J. Christian Goeke prosecuting. This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence, and making neighborhoods safer for everyone. The Department launched a violent crime reduction strategy strengthening PSN on May 26, 2021, based on core principles such as fostering trust and legitimacy in communities, supporting community-based organizations, and setting focused enforcement priorities.
The sentence handed down to Jordin White serves as a reminder of the severity of the crimes he committed. With a sentence of 97 months in prison, White will have ample time to reflect on his actions.
