Jordin White, Fentanyl Trafficking, Missouri 2024

ST. LOUIS – Jordin White, a 24-year-old St. Louis resident, is headed to federal prison for nearly eight years after a pair of brazen encounters with law enforcement revealed a lucrative trade in fentanyl, cocaine, and illegal firearms. U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey handed down the 97-month sentence on Tuesday, bringing a close to a case that showcased White’s blatant disregard for the law.

The initial bust unfolded on April 29, 2024, when detectives with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s Anti-Crime Task Force spotted White behind the wheel of a stolen Chrysler 300. A glint of metal caught their eye – a firearm magazine visibly protruding from his shorts. A search following his detention yielded a .45-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun tucked in his pocket. The vehicle itself proved to be a mobile armory, containing an AR-style pistol loaded with a full 30-round magazine, additional ammunition, a significant amount of cash, and a scale commonly used for weighing narcotics. Police also seized 107 capsules filled with a deadly combination of fentanyl and crack cocaine.

But White didn’t just stop there. Less than a month later, on June 5, 2024, the Anti-Crime Task Force observed White again, this time conducting what appeared to be hand-to-hand drug transactions from an Audi A4 in a parking lot. When officers attempted to stop him, White floored it, leading police on a chase. Despite a spike strip deployment, he continued to flee until he lost control of the Audi and abandoned it. He didn’t stay down for long, though, bolting on foot while clutching a Glock handgun with a massive, high-capacity drum magazine containing 32 rounds. A subsequent search of the abandoned vehicle revealed six knotted baggies containing a substantial 127.98 grams of marijuana.

White eventually pleaded guilty in March to three serious felony counts: possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute cocaine base, and, crucially, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime – the charge that significantly boosted his sentence. The evidence painted a clear picture: White wasn’t a casual user, but a dedicated dealer profiting from the misery of others, and willing to arm himself to protect his illicit business.

The investigation was spearheaded by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney J. Christian Goeke leading the prosecution. This case is a stark example of the ongoing efforts under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a federal initiative designed to dismantle violent crime and gun violence by fostering collaboration between law enforcement and local communities. The program focuses on building trust, supporting community organizations, prioritizing strategic enforcement, and meticulously tracking results.

White’s 97-month sentence sends a message: in St. Louis, and across the nation, those who flood our streets with deadly drugs and brandish firearms while doing so will face the full weight of the law. The Grimy Times will continue to track the impact of Project Safe Neighborhoods and report on the individuals who threaten the safety of our communities.
