A York man is facing serious charges after being indicted for drug trafficking and firearm offenses in federal court. Jose David Santiago-Curet, 22, was charged with possessing cocaine base with the intent to distribute, possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, and possessing a firearm as a previously convicted felon.
The indictment alleges that Santiago-Curet committed the crimes on June 30, 2018, in York County. Authorities claim that he had a 9mm Ruger firearm in his possession at the time of the alleged crimes.
The York City Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives investigated the case, which is part of the Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) program. PSN is a program aimed at reducing violent crime and making neighborhoods safer for everyone.
The case will be prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Scott R. Ford. Indictments are only allegations, and all persons charged are presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court.
