Grimy Times Exclusive: Joshua Nall, a 31-year-old Boise resident and member of the Aryan Knights gang, pleaded guilty to unlawfully possessing a firearm in a federal court hearing yesterday.
According to the plea agreement, Nall admitted to possessing a Glock .40 pistol on April 13, 2012, which he provided to a confidential informant. The firearm was prohibited from being in Nall’s possession due to his previous felony conviction for unlawful possession of a firearm in 2008.
The charge of unlawful possession of a firearm carries a maximum sentence of up to ten years in prison, a maximum fine of $250,000, and up to three years of supervised release.
Nall is set to be sentenced on August 20, 2013, by the Chief U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill at the federal courthouse in Boise.
This case is part of a larger investigation into the Aryan Knights gang, which involved 23 people being charged with drug trafficking and firearms violations. Nall is the 23rd person to plead guilty, with 15 of the 23 individuals already receiving sentences and the remaining awaiting sentencing.
The investigation, led by the Treasure Valley Metro Violent Crimes Task Force, focused on the Aryan Knights gang’s involvement in methamphetamine trafficking and identified gang members and associates who were the source of the drug.
The Treasure Valley Metro Violent Crimes Task Force consists of federal, state, and local agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Boise Police Department, and Idaho Department of Corrections, among others.
Nall’s case is being prosecuted by the Special Assistant U.S. Attorney hired by the Treasure Valley Partnership and the State of Idaho to address gang crimes.
