San Antonio, TX – Juan Bernardo Cardenas-Ledesma, a 35-year-old Mexican national, has been charged with illegal re-entry after being deported three times.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Cardenas-Ledesma was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents near Val Verde, Texas. He has multiple felony convictions, including grand theft auto, lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14, and hit and run resulting in injury or death.
Cardenas-Ledesma was previously deported in 2018, 2020, and 2022. He is being held without bond.
This case is part of a larger effort by federal prosecutors to combat human smuggling and immigration-related crimes in the Western District of Texas.
