Justin Beardt Sentenced in Aggravated Sexual Abuse Case
A Mission, South Dakota man has been sentenced to 11 years in custody for his role in an aggravated sexual abuse case.
On January 8, 2013, United States District Judge Roberto A. Lange handed down the sentence to Justin Beardt, 30.
The conviction stems from an incident that took place on January 23, 2011, when Beardt sexually abused the victim by force.
Beardt was also ordered to pay $320 in restitution and a $100 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund. He will be on supervised release for five years after serving his sentence.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services.
Assistant United States Attorney Tim Maher prosecuted the case, which resulted in Beardt being remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal.
