Local Man Pleads Guilty to Marijuana Manufacturing Conspiracy
ROCKFORD, Illinois – Justin T. Paglusch, 35, of Ingleside, Illinois, pleaded guilty to conspiring to manufacture and distribute marijuana in a Rockford warehouse. The crime took place between November 2014 and January 6, 2015, at a warehouse located at 1916 11th St. in Rockford.
Paglusch, who is facing a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years in prison, a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, a maximum fine of $4 million, and a term of supervised release following imprisonment of at least five years and up to life, admitted to working with his cousin, Jeremiah N. Clement, 39, formerly of Des Plaines, in a marijuana growing operation at the warehouse.
According to Paglusch’s written plea agreement, the operation involved over 1,000 marijuana plants, which were nearly ready to be harvested when Paglusch arrived at the warehouse in November 2014. The harvested marijuana was weighed and packaged into one pound amounts and vacuum sealed, and stored in a vault at the warehouse with a combination lock.
Paglusch’s cousin, Jeremiah N. Clement, previously pleaded guilty to the same charge and was sentenced to ten years in prison.
Paglusch’s sentencing is set for June 23, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph C. Pedersen.
The investigation into the marijuana manufacturing conspiracy was conducted by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit and the Rockford Police Department Narcotics Unit, with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives and the Skokie Police Department.
Paglusch faces serious consequences for his role in the conspiracy, including a potential life sentence and a fine of up to $4 million.
The case is a reminder of the serious nature of marijuana manufacturing and distribution crimes, and the importance of law enforcement efforts to combat these activities.
