A shocking case of child assault has shaken the community of Middleboro, Massachusetts, as 43-year-old Keith Gage was sentenced to 13 years in prison for coercing and enticing a minor for the purpose of engaging in sexual intercourse.

Gage’s heinous crimes were committed on TeenSpot.com, a website designed for young teens but which has been increasingly used by predators to contact young victims. He met the 14-year-old victim online and persuaded her to meet with him and engage in sexual intercourse on multiple occasions.

The victim’s bravery in coming forward led to Gage’s arrest, and an undercover federal agent assumed the victim’s identity online, ultimately leading to Gage’s apprehension.

U.S. District Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV handed down the sentence, which includes five years of supervised release. Gage is also required to register as a sex offender and must refrain from contact with his victim during the period of his incarceration and supervised release.

The investigation was led by the United States Postal Inspection Service, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police and the Easton Police Department. United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz, Shelly Binkowski, Inspector in Charge of the United States Postal Inspection Service, Colonel Timothy P. Alben, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police, and Easton Chief of Police Allen Krajcik made the announcement today.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Suzanne Sullivan Jacobus of Ortiz’s Major Crimes Unit. The sentence sends a strong message that child predators will be held accountable for their crimes and will face the full force of the law.

Gage’s guilty plea in July 2014 marked a significant milestone in the case, and his sentence serves as a reminder of the devastating impact of child assault on victims and their families.

The community of Middleboro can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that Gage will be behind bars for the next 13 years, and the victim can finally find some sense of closure and justice.
