Brian Keleman, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Rhode Island 2024

BOSTON – The grimy underworld of drug trafficking took a severe blow as Brian Keleman, 55, from Pascoag, R.I., pleaded guilty on June 21, 2024, for his role in the largest nationwide methamphetamine trafficking ring to date.

In an investigation that spanned coast to coast, over 160 pounds of pure meth, an AK-47, an unserialized Glock, two Smith & Wesson handguns, and more than 4,200 rounds of ammunition were seized. The dismantling of a vast illegal marijuana grow operation with hundreds of plants was also a significant victory.

Keleman admitted to conspiracy to distribute and possess methamphetamine with intent to distribute, as well as money laundering conspiracy. Sentencing is set for September 17, 2024, in the U.S. District Court.

‘This final conviction represents a monumental victory against drug trafficking,’ Acting United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy said. ‘Federal, state, and local law enforcement are committed to removing dangerous drugs from our streets.’

Operation Ice Cats, spearheaded by the FBI, Boston Division, successfully crushed the multi-state organization that flooded New England with 160 pounds of meth. Special Agent in Charge Jodi Cohen emphasized the agency’s ongoing efforts to dismantle such operations.

Stephen Belleau, DEA Acting Special Agent in Charge for the New England Field Division, vowed to keep highly addictive drugs out of Massachusetts and reminded traffickers of the severe consequences they face.
