Grimy Times has learned that Kelly Marie Talbert, a 37-year-old woman from Keyser, West Virginia, has admitted to a serious crime. On October 2018, Talbert worked with another individual to sell methamphetamine, also known as “crystal meth” or “ice,” in Hardy County.
As a result of her actions, Talbert faces a maximum of 20 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000. The actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant, under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
The case against Talbert is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen D. Warner on behalf of the government. The Potomac Highlands Drug Task Force, the West Virginia State Police, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, and the Moorefield Police Department investigated the crime.
The defendant was brought before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Aloi, who presided over the case.
Talbert, whose real full name is Kelly Marie Talbert, was charged with one count of “Distribution of Methamphetamine – Aiding and Abetting”. This serious crime carries significant penalties, including the possibility of lengthy prison time and substantial fines.
