Kenmore Man Sentenced to 57 Months for Meth Trafficking

John McNeill, a 57-year-old Kenmore man, has been handed a 57-month prison sentence after being found guilty of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. McNeill, a former owner of Mixology Bar on Forest Avenue in Buffalo, received large shipments of methamphetamine from a source of supply in San Diego, CA.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas S. Duskiewicz, a package containing a quarter kilogram of methamphetamine with a street value of approximately $38,000 was intercepted by law enforcement officers on September 5, 2014. A controlled delivery was made to McNeill’s Kenmore residence, leading to his arrest.

The sentencing is the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge James J. Hunt, New York Field Division, the Cheektowaga Police Department, under the direction of Chief David Zack, and the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority Police, under the direction of Chief George Gast.

U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr. announced the sentencing, stating that McNeill’s actions had a significant impact on the community. ‘This sentence reflects the severity of the crime and the need to hold individuals accountable for their actions,’ he said.

McNeill’s conviction is a result of a collaborative effort between law enforcement agencies. The investigation highlighted the dangers of methamphetamine trafficking and the importance of community cooperation in preventing such crimes.
