BOSTON – The grimy streets of Kentucky are no match for the justice system as Scott Allison, a 59-year-old predator from Glasgow, KY, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for advertising and possessing child pornography on the dark web.
U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani handed down the sentence today, ordering Allison to pay $100,000 in restitution following his guilty plea in September 2023. The Kentucky native’s online enterprise came crashing down after being charged by criminal complaint in November 2021 and indicted by a federal grand jury in Boston in December 2021.
“Mr. Allison deserves to be behind bars for a very long time,” said Acting United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy. “He is a reprehensible cog in the market built around the shameless exploitation of innocent children.”
Allison, who used the dark web as a cloak for his despicable activities, was identified advertising and posting links to child sexual abuse material. His computer was found to contain nearly 130,000 images and videos of CSAM, along with the content of approximately 108,000 posts on child pornography websites.
HSI Special Agent in Charge Michael J. Krol echoed Levy’s sentiments: “The dark web is no match against the will of law enforcement to protect our children.”
This case was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. For more information on Project Safe Childhood, please visit https://www.justice.gov/psc.
