Attempted Production of Child Pornography Lands West Virginia Man Behind Bars
FORT WAYNE, INDIANA – In a two-day jury trial, Kevin Hartleroad, 64, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, was found guilty of attempted production of child pornography.

The case against Hartleroad began in February 2020, when he attempted to coerce a minor into engaging in sexually explicit conduct with the intention of producing a visual depiction of such conduct. This heinous act was uncovered through a thorough investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Acting United States Attorney Tina L. Nommay announced Hartleroad’s conviction, stating that the jury’s verdict served as a reminder of the severity of these crimes and the consequences that come with them. Assistant United States Attorney Lesley J. Miller Lowery prosecuted the case.

Kevin Hartleroad’s sentencing is scheduled for January 5, 2022. He will face the consequences of his actions, serving as a warning to others who would attempt to exploit and harm our children.
