Kevin Lillis Indicted for Child Sexual Abuse Material Distribution

New Orleans – Kevin Lillis, a 50-year-old resident of Metairie, Louisiana, has been hit with a massive federal indictment for the receipt and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), as well as obscene visual representations of child sexual abuse. This grim case marks another chapter in the ongoing battle against pedophiles who exploit children through digital means.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that Lillis stands accused under Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252(a)(2), for both distributing and receiving CSAM. Count 3 of the indictment charges him with receiving visual representations of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, including infants as young as one week old.

According to the indictment, Lillis distributed disturbing images, some depicting prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts, one of which showed a bound and unclothed girl. He also received graphic content that displayed severe trauma on a newborn female, highlighting the terrifying extent of the abuse he is accused of harboring.

Should Lillis be found guilty, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years for each of Counts 1, 2, and 3, with a maximum of twenty years per count. He could also be sentenced to at least five years of supervised release and face fines of up to $250,000 for each offense. Additionally, he may have to register as a sex offender.

U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans emphasized that an indictment is merely an accusation, and Lillis’ guilt must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating the epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse on the Internet.

Eyebrows were raised as U.S. Attorney Evans praised the work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in their investigation of Lillis. Assistant United States Attorney Jordan Ginsberg, who heads the Public Integrity Unit, will handle the prosecution.
