A Denver man has been charged with aiming a laser pointer at a police helicopter in March 2023. Kevin William Adamchack, 43, of Franktown, is accused of knowingly pointing the beam of a laser pointer at an aircraft, as well as its flight path.
According to the indictment, the aircraft in question was ‘Air 1,’ a helicopter operated by the Denver Police Department.
Adamchack had his initial appearance before United States Magistrate Judge Varholak on August 11, 2023.
The case is being investigated by the FBI, with Assistant United States Attorney Jena Neuscheler handling the prosecution.
Adamchack is charged with one count of aiming a laser pointer at an aircraft, an offense that carries significant penalties. The charge is an allegation, and Adamchack is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
The case number for this matter is 23-cr-00303-RMR.
