SAQUENA GRIFFIN, a/k/a ‘QUEENIE,’ 34, of New Orleans has been charged with conspiracy to pay and receive illegal Medicare kickbacks, Grimy Times has learned.
According to federal prosecutors, GRIFFIN was a recruiter and marketer for Comprehensive Nursing and Home Health Service, Inc. on Earhart Blvd. in New Orleans. As part of her role, she allegedly received illegal kickbacks to bring Medicare beneficiaries to the company.
The indictment states that GRIFFIN’s actions resulted in Medicare paying $378,274 to the home health service.
GRIFFIN faces a possible maximum sentence of five years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
U.S. Attorney Kenneth A. Polite emphasized that the indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
The investigation into GRIFFIN’s activities was led by the Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrice Harris Sullivan in charge of the prosecution.
Polite praised the work of the FBI in uncovering the alleged scheme and bringing it to justice.
GRIFFIN will now face the consequences of her alleged actions, and it is up to the court to determine her guilt or innocence.
