Faisil McCants, a repeat violent offender, fired 15 rounds on a public street in East Harlem, striking and killing 69-year-old Robin Wright, who was resting on her walker on the sidewalk. The senseless murder occurred on August 27, 2025, during a midday armed robbery. McCants and his co-conspirators robbed a drug dealer near East 109th Street and Madison Avenue before the shooting. McCants, who possessed a machine gun, got into a physical altercation with the drug dealer before grabbing backpacks containing marijuana and fleeing.
