Matthew Green, Narcotics Distribution, Washington 2025

Washington – A hard-hitting blow to the city’s underworld was delivered as Matthew Green, 31, of Washington D.C., was sentenced October 7 in U.S. District Court to 100 months for distributing narcotics on Knox Place SE, according to U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.

Green pleaded guilty July 8, 2025, to charges including possession with intent to distribute phencyclidine (PCP), cocaine base, and marijuana, as well as possessing a firearm during drug trafficking. The judge also ordered Green to serve three years of supervised release following his prison term.

Joining in the announcement was FBI Assistant Director Darren B. Cox of the Washington Field Office.

Court documents reveal that in the summer of 2024, the FBI launched a probe into a drug trafficking ring operating out of Knox Place. Green, identified as a PCP supplier, was apprehended after an undercover operation on October 3, 2024.

On December 16, 2024, following a tip-off to 911, police stopped Green near the 2800 block of Gainesville Street SE, where they found a loaded Glock 19 pistol and substantial quantities of drugs. The stash included 48 grams of crack cocaine, over 62 grams of PCP in 122 vials, 366 grams of marijuana, and a 20-ounce bottle of pink liquid suspected to be ‘lean’.

This case was the culmination of investigations by the FBI Washington Field Office, DEA Washington Division, and Metropolitan Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Matthew W. Kinskey, John Crabb, Jr., John Parron, and former Assistant U.S. Attorney Sitara Witanachchi prosecuted the case.
