Kraysalias Lynn Bernhardt, 21, Sentenced to 4 Years in Prison for Meth Trafficking

A Clearwater woman has been sentenced to four years in federal prison on a drug trafficking charge, U.S. Attorney Tom Beall said. Kraysalias Lynn Bernhardt, 21, pleaded guilty to one count of using a telephone in furtherance of drug trafficking.

According to court documents, Bernhardt received a call from co-defendant Samuel Below while he was being held in the Sedgwick County Jail. Below, who was sentenced in December to 10 years in federal prison, instructed Bernhardt to sell a pound of methamphetamine that he was storing at her residence.

Following Below’s direction, Bernhardt sold a pound of methamphetamine, furthering the drug trafficking operation. The sale occurred on January 16, 2016.

U.S. Attorney Tom Beall commended the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, the Wichita Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for their work on the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alan Metzger also received praise for his efforts.

The investigation into Bernhardt’s activities highlighted the dangers of drug trafficking and the importance of law enforcement collaboration in combating this crime. The sentencing of Bernhardt serves as a reminder of the consequences of engaging in illicit activities.

As the Grimy Times continues to report on drug trafficking cases, it is clear that law enforcement agencies are working tirelessly to disrupt and dismantle these operations. The sentence handed down to Bernhardt is a testament to the effectiveness of these efforts and serves as a warning to those involved in similar activities.
