A 25-year-old Wichita man, Colton Wiggins, has been indicted for distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in Wichita, Kansas. According to court documents, Wiggins used a computer to distribute CSAM in February 2026. The case is being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Project Safe Childhood was launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
The indictment alleges that Wiggins distributed CSAM, but it does not provide further details about the case. An indictment is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
In addition to Wiggins’ case, several other individuals were also indicted in separate cases. Pedro Jose Lerma-Rivas, Miguel Mendez-Cisneros, and Jose Cruz-Vasquez were all indicted for unlawful reentry after deportation and other related charges.
