Lake City Man Gets 15 Years for Child Porn
ERIE, Pa. – William Joseph Leuschen, a 39-year-old former resident of Lake City, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court to 15 years in prison for his role in the sexual exploitation of children.
According to information presented to the Court, from May 2020 to February 2022, Leuschen received and possessed images depicting prepubescent minors, some as young as infants and toddlers, engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
United States District Judge Susan Paradise Baxter imposed the sentence on Leuschen, who will also serve 10 years of supervised release, make restitution in the amount of $4,000, and pay a $5,100 special assessment.
“The exploitation of children for sexual gratification is a horrific crime that will not be tolerated in our communities,” said United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan. “We commend the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Erie County Detectives Bureau, and Erie County Adult Probation and Parole Department for their tireless efforts in bringing this perpetrator to justice.”
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold prosecuted this case on behalf of the government, ensuring that Leuschen’s crimes would not go unpunished.
The investigation was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Erie County Detectives Bureau, and Erie County Adult Probation and Parole Department, who worked together to bring an end to Leuschen’s disturbing activities.
As part of the sentence, Leuschen will be required to register as a sex offender and undergo counseling to address his deviant behavior.
Leuschen’s sentence serves as a stark reminder that those who prey on children will be held accountable for their crimes and face severe consequences.
