Las FARC Members, Conspiracy to Possess and Distribute Controlled Substances, Puerto Rico 2025

San Juan, Puerto Rico – In a major blow to the drug trade in Puerto Rico, 53 members of the criminal organization known as Las FARC were charged with conspiracy to possess and distribute controlled substances, as well as firearms violations. United States Attorney W. Stephen Muldrow announced the indictment on June 11, 2025.

The investigation was spearheaded by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Puerto Rico Police Bureau (PRPB), with support from Customs and Border Protection (CBP), DEA, U.S. Marshals Service, FBI, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, U.S. Border Patrol Tactical Unit, ATF, and local municipal police forces.

‘We are committed to dismantling criminal organizations that profit from the distribution of dangerous drugs across Puerto Rico,’ Muldrow stated. ‘With today’s arrests, we reinforce our commitment to protect our communities and pursue these individuals to the fullest extent of the law.’

The indictment alleges that the organization distributed heroin, cocaine base, cocaine, marijuana, fentanyl, Oxycodone, and Alprazolam near public housing projects in San Juan. The objective was to distribute wholesale quantities of drugs for significant financial gain, using violence and intimidation to maintain control.

Members of LAS FARC were also accused of transporting large quantities of cocaine into the continental United States, using traffic barrels to hinder law enforcement and providing armed escorts to leaders. Proceeds from illegal activities were used to purchase legitimate assets.

The defendants face charges ranging from conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances to firearms violations and murder in protection of the organization’s interests.
