Lemoyne Man Sentenced to 262 Months for Gun Crime
HARRISBURG – A Lemoyne man was sentenced to 262 months in prison for possessing firearms during a drug trafficking crime.
According to federal prosecutors, Akee Ly, 32, was prohibited from possessing firearms due to a previous felony conviction. Ly used a third party to purchase the guns on his behalf.
On August 25, 2021, United States District Court Chief Judge Matthew W. Brann imposed the sentence on Ly.
A search of Ly’s home in Lemoyne uncovered a cache of illicit goods, including:
- an SCCY Industries pistol
- a Taurus pistol
- a Taurus revolver
- a Springfield Armory pistol
- firearm magazines
- assorted ammunition
- 75 grams of cocaine
- $12,265
- three bottles of promethazine
- multiple Xanax bars
- marijuana
- eight Ecstasy pills
- 200 THC vape bottles
- narcotics packaging material
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. Assistant U.S. Attorney Scott Ford prosecuted the case.
The sentencing is part of the joint federal, state, and local Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Program, which aims to reduce violent crime through evidence-based solutions.
Through PSN, a broad spectrum of stakeholders work together to identify the most pressing violent crime problems in the community and develop comprehensive solutions to address them.
