Bowling Green Substitute Teacher Guilty of Child Pornography Charges

A former Bowling Green substitute teacher has pleaded guilty to charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.

Leon Lussier, 49, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, was arrested by criminal complaint on September 1, 2015, and charged by grand jury indictment on September 16, 2016.

According to court documents, Lussier admitted to participating in video conferencing rooms where he streamed child pornography through his webcam on three occasions from June 23, 2015, to July 21, 2015.

As part of an international investigation by the Toronto, Ontario police, Lussier was identified as the individual with the username ‘I luv boys’ who streamed child pornography videos. A search warrant at Lussier’s home resulted in the seizure of numerous computer media, including several videos containing child pornography.

Lussier faces a sentence of not less than 5 years and not more than 30 years in prison, a $500,000.00 fine, and supervised release of at least five years and could be any number of years, including life.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jo E. Lawless and is being investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Canadian authorities, Bowling Green Police Department, and U.S. Marshals Service.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the U.S. government to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
