Levar Washington, a 37-year-old inmate at United States Penitentiary, Allenwood, has been sentenced to 72 months’ imprisonment for assault with a dangerous weapon. The sentencing was handed down by United States District Judge Matthew W. Brann, following Washington’s guilty plea on February 15, 2017.

According to United States Attorney Bruce D. Brandler, Washington attacked another inmate with a sharpened weapon, commonly referred to as a “shank.” The victim suffered between 13 and 15 lacerations to his back.
