Cesar A. Lobo-Ramos, Illegal Re-entry of a Removed Alien, Louisiana 2025

CESAR A. LOBO-RAMOS, a 38-year-old Honduran national, has been sentenced to 24 months in federal prison for illegal re-entry of a removed alien, in violation of Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326(a).

According to court documents, LOBO-RAMOS re-entered the United States after being previously deported on April 10, 2018. This illegal re-entry was discovered after LOBO-RAMOS was arrested by the Kenner Police Department on November 2, 2023, for resisting arrest and obstruction of police.

LOBO-RAMOS faced an enhanced statutory maximum sentence of 20 years due to a prior Sexual Battery conviction in Jefferson Parish in 2010. U.S. District Judge Brandon S. Long sentenced him to 24 months in federal prison on July 22, 2025.

The sentencing of LOBO-RAMOS is a result of the collaborative efforts of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency and the Kenner Police Department. Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson praised the work of these agencies in investigating this matter.

Assistant United States Attorney Carter K.D. Guice, Jr. of the General Crimes Unit was in charge of the prosecution. The case highlights the importance of cooperation between federal and local law enforcement agencies in combating illegal re-entry and other federal crimes.

The sentence of 24 months in federal prison serves as a deterrent to those who would attempt to illegally re-enter the United States after being deported. It also underscores the commitment of federal law enforcement agencies to upholding the law and protecting national security.

In announcing the sentence, Acting U.S. Attorney Simpson emphasized the importance of enforcing federal immigration laws. The case of LOBO-RAMOS demonstrates the consequences of violating these laws and the seriousness with which federal authorities approach such offenses.
