A 30-year-old Salina man has been sentenced to 130 months in federal prison for trafficking in methamphetamine, a crime that has plagued communities across the nation.
Lofton H. Clark, a resident of Salina, Kansas, pleaded guilty to one count of distributing methamphetamine, a charge that carries significant prison time.
According to court records, on February 27, 2013, members of the I-70 Drug Task Force arranged to purchase 26 grams of methamphetamine from Clark during a transaction in a vehicle at a location in Salina.
The I-70 Drug Task Force played a crucial role in bringing Clark to justice, and their dedication to keeping our communities safe is admirable.
U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom commended the I-70 Drug Task Force and Assistant U.S. Attorney Randy Hendershot for their work on the case.
Clark’s sentence sends a clear message that those involved in methamphetamine trafficking will face severe consequences.
As a nation, we must continue to work together to combat the scourge of methamphetamine and protect our communities from its devastating effects.
