Logan Mactavish, Methamphetamine Conspiracy, Pennsylvania 2020

A Clearfield man has been sentenced to a decade in prison for his role in a massive methamphetamine operation that spanned over a year.

According to federal court documents, Logan Mactavish, 40, of Clearfield, PA, was sentenced on June 1, 2020 to a total of 120 months in prison followed by 5 years of supervised release on his conviction of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

The indictment alleges that Mactavish conspired with others to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine from July 2019 to June 2020.

A team of federal and local law enforcement agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, Pennsylvania State Police, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, conducted the investigation that led to Mactavish’s arrest.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Maureen Sheehan-Balchon on behalf of the government.

United States Attorney Cindy K. Chung commended the agencies involved in the investigation, stating that their efforts led to the successful prosecution of Mactavish.

As part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation, law enforcement agencies used a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach to dismantle a high-level drug trafficking operation.
