Lonnie James Tanner, Jr., Distribution of Methamphetamine, West Virginia 2022

A Marshall County man has been sentenced for distributing methamphetamine in West Virginia, according to investigators.

Lonnie James Tanner, Jr., 53, of Cameron, West Virginia, pleaded guilty in January 2022 to one count of ‘Distribution of Methamphetamine.’

The crime allegedly took place in July 2021 in Marshall County.

Tanner admitted to selling methamphetamine during the investigation.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Marshall County Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, led the investigation.

U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided over the case.

Tanner was sentenced to 46 months of incarceration for the crime, as announced by United States Attorney William Ihlenfeld.

The case highlights the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
