MINNEAPOLIS – The grim saga of the Lows gang continues as three more alleged members were hit with RICO charges, bringing the total to fourteen. Marques Armstrong Jr., 30, Davant Moore, 23, and Jahon Lynch, 20, all from Minneapolis, faced their initial appearances in the District of Minnesota today.
The latest indictment against the Lows alleges a litany of crimes, including murder, gun trafficking, and drug dealing with fentanyl. The gang’s alleged activities are tied to ten murders, committed at various public locations across Minneapolis.
Acting Assistant Attorney General Matthew R. Galeotti of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division emphasized the severity of the crime, stating that “these fourteen defendants are allegedly all part of a gang that is responsible for at least 10 murders on the streets of Minneapolis.”
Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson vowed to dismantle the gang, declaring, “The Lows are killing our neighbors, and we’re taking them down. RICO charges give us the power to dismantle the violent street gangs that fuel the violence and trap families in fear.”
The FBI’s Assistant Director Jose A. Perez echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to eradicating drug-fueled gang violence. “Violent groups don’t belong in our communities,” he said.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara praised the collaborative efforts that led to the latest charges, noting that “today’s result brings us closer to justice and accountability.”
