Lucas Anthony Walker, Second Degree Murder, Oklahoma 2023

Bartlesville Man Sentenced to 35 Years for Killing Dewey Couple

Tulsa, Okla. – In a shocking turn of events, Lucas Anthony Walker, 22, has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for the brutal murder of a Dewey couple.

U.S. District Judge John D. Russell handed down the sentence, ordering Walker to serve 420 months for each of the two counts of second degree murder in Indian County. He will also serve five years of supervised release after his prison term.

The gruesome discovery was made in January 2023, when Washington County Sheriff’s deputies began investigating the disappearance of Deborah and Larry Dutton. After a search of the Dutton’s home, detectives found the couple’s lifeless bodies in a shallow grave in the backyard.

Walker, a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, confessed to shooting and stabbing Deborah to death, while stabbing Larry to death. The FBI, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigated the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric O. Johnston prosecuted the case, bringing justice to the families of the victims. Walker will remain in custody pending transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.

The case serves as a stark reminder of the violence and brutality that can occur in our communities. The Grimy Times sends its condolences to the families of Deborah and Larry Dutton, and we hope that this sentencing brings them some measure of closure.
