Luis Lamas-Guzman, Drug Trafficking, California 2023

SEATTLE – In a massive law enforcement operation, ten members of drug and gun trafficking groups were arrested in connection with three significant conspiracies, announced U.S. Attorney Charles Neil Floyd.

Luis Humberto Lamas-Guzman, 25, of Lynnwood, Washington, was among those nabbed for orchestrating the distribution of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin across western Washington. ‘These drugs take a heavy toll on our community,’ Floyd said.

The operation, led by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Seattle Police Department, resulted in the seizure of over 100,000 fentanyl pills, 34 firearms, including high-powered assault style weapons, and $40,000 in cash. The arrests were part of a year-long investigation.

In addition to Lamas-Guzman, other key figures include Eduardo Villavicencio-Salido, 44, of Marysville; Silvestre Ramos Martinez, 35, of Everett; and Jose Navarro Hernandez ‘Robert’, 46, also from Marysville. The group also faced charges for trafficking firearms, some seized during the operation.

David F. Reames, Special Agent in Charge, DEA Seattle Field Division, emphasized the threat posed by this Transnational Criminal Organization: ‘Our entire region is safer today because of the efforts of DEA and our partners.’ Seattle Police Chief Shon Barnes thanked both local and federal law enforcement for their teamwork.

The arrests were part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at eliminating cartels and transnational criminal organizations. Agencies involved included DEA, SPD, IRS-CI, and various SWAT teams.
