Maine Man Sentenced to 10+ Years for Oxycodone Trafficking

A Lewiston man has been sentenced to over 10 years in prison for his role in a major oxycodone trafficking operation. Jermaine Johnson, 40, of Lewiston, Maine, was handed a 130-month sentence by a federal judge on Thursday, along with 6 years of supervised release.

According to court records, Johnson was stopped by law enforcement agents in Sabattus, Maine, and found to be in possession of 121 oxycodone pills. Agents then seized over $16,000 from Johnson’s residence. Further investigation revealed that Johnson was responsible for distributing nearly 4,000 oxycodone pills in 2013.

Johnson pleaded guilty to the charges on September 25, 2013. The court determined that Johnson was a career offender, which subjected him to enhanced penalties. U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced the sentence, praising the efforts of law enforcement agencies involved in the case.
