Makyna Kancso, Oxycodone Distribution, West Virginia 2015

A 23-year-old woman from Crawford, West Virginia, has been handed a 15-month prison sentence for her role in an oxycodone distribution operation in the area.

Makyna Kancso, 23, of Crawford, West Virginia, was sentenced to 15 months incarceration for distributing oxycodone, United States Attorney Bill Powell announced.

Kancso admitted to distributing oxycodone in Upshur County, West Virginia, in June 2015. 

She pleaded guilty to one count of "Distribution of Oxycodone" in September 2017.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda E. Wesley prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Mon Metro Drug and Violent Crime Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigated.

The investigation in this case was funded by the federal Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Program (OCDETF).

Senior U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley presided over the case.
