BOSTON – Bethany Abigail Terrill, 37, of Malden, Massachusetts, is facing federal charges after allegedly threatening to kill federal agents involved in lawful immigration enforcement. The incident, which unfolded outside Malden District Court, escalated from verbal harassment to explicit death threats, according to charging documents unsealed today.
Terrill was charged with threatening a United States official, a charge that carries a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. She is scheduled to make an initial appearance in federal court in Boston at 1:30 pm today. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Luke A. Goldworm of the Major Crimes Unit.
The chaos began as agents were supporting Immigration Enforcement and Removal Operations near Malden District Court. While effecting the administrative immigration arrest of individuals, agents encountered Terrill. Though her initial interaction with the agents was unrelated to their operation, she quickly interjected herself into the situation, becoming verbally abusive and attempting to physically interfere with the arrest. She allegedly pushed through agents while attempting to film the operation on her mobile phone.
According to the complaint, Terrill screamed at the agents, shouting phrases like “ICE is here, ICE is here,” “You guys are monsters, this is insane,” and repeatedly demanding the agents’ names. Despite repeated requests to “back up” and warnings that she could be arrested for obstructing the lawful operation, Terrill allegedly continued to push past the agents, ignoring their commands. Agents were clearly identifiable by their badges, agency placards, and clothing.
The situation took a dark turn when Terrill allegedly yelled, “Charlie Kirk died, and we love it… We’re coming for you, gonna kill you.” This chilling threat was captured on both the agents’ body-worn cameras and, reportedly, on Terrill’s own mobile phone. The outburst prompted immediate action, leading to her arrest and subsequent federal charges.
United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Ted E. Docks, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Division, announced the charges today.
