Man Admits Conspiring to Sex Traffic Child

Baltimore, Maryland – A 31-year-old man from Gwynn Oak, Maryland, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of a child.

Jonathan M. Went, also known as ‘Jon Maxx’ and ‘Max Out,’ faces up to life in prison for his role in the crime.

According to court documents, Went and his co-defendant, 25-year-old Rayvon O. Archibald, encountered a girl under the age of 14 in New York City in March 2014. They provided her with alcohol and drugs, then transported her to Went’s apartment in Gwynn Oak, where they posted an ad on a commercial sex website soliciting customers for the girl.

The girl used Went’s phone to secretly send a message to her mother, but after receiving the message, the girl’s mother reported her daughter missing to the police. The girl secretly left Went’s apartment and called 911 from Went’s phone, and the police found her at a nearby intersection.

Went, Archibald, and a woman were arrested and charged with sex trafficking. The case was investigated by the FBI-led Maryland Child Exploitation Task Force, which coordinates with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Maryland State Police Child Recovery Unit to identify missing children being advertised online for prostitution.

Archibald previously pleaded guilty to sex trafficking of a child and faces up to life in prison. Went’s sentencing is scheduled for April 15, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., and he remains detained. The case highlights the ongoing problem of child sex trafficking in Maryland and the importance of law enforcement working together to combat this crime.
