GRIMY NEWS ALERT: Levi Edward Hamilton, a 23-year-old from Mansfield, Tennessee, has been handed down a 25-year sentence for creating a fake Instagram account to solicit sexually explicit images and videos from minors. The disturbing case was announced by Joseph C. Murphy, Jr., Interim U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee.
Hamilton faced multiple charges including production of child pornography, coercion and enticement of a minor, receipt of child pornography, transferring obscene material to a minor, and possessing child pornography. His guilty plea on two counts of producing child pornography led to the severe sentence imposed by United States District Judge S. Thomas Anderson, who also ordered five years of supervised release following his prison term.
The federal system operates without parole for Hamilton’s crime, ensuring he will serve the full 25 years before becoming eligible for release. The investigation into Hamilton was a collaborative effort between the FBI Memphis Child Exploitation Task Force and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
