Raymond Lloyd Jandreau, Failure to Register as Sex Offender, South Dakota 2024

RAYMOND LLOYD JANDREAU, 61, of Marty, South Dakota, finds himself in hot water after a federal grand jury indicted him for failing to register as a sex offender. United States Attorney Ron Parsons made the chilling announcement.

Jandreau, who was convicted of a sex offense in state court and is required to register for life, vanished without a trace since July 1, 2016. His last known address was in Farmington, New Mexico, but he left no sign of his presence.

His whereabouts remain unknown despite the passage of time. The District of South Dakota, where Jandreau’s crime occurred within the jurisdiction of the Yankton Sioux Tribe Reservation, is seeking answers.

The stakes are high: Jandreau faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted. He also risks a mandatory minimum term of supervised release that could stretch from 5 years to life. Additionally, he will have to pay $100 into the Federal Crime Victims Fund, contribute $5,000 to the domestic trafficking fund, and face potential restitution orders.

Despite the serious charges against him, Jandreau maintains his innocence. He pled not guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Veronica Duffy on May 17, 2019.

The investigation is in full swing with the U.S. Marshals Service leading the charge. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeremy R. Jehangiri is handling the prosecution. Jandreau was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service, and a trial date has yet to be determined.
