Marty Man Sentenced for Stabbing Victim with Knife

A chilling crime has shaken a small town in South Dakota. Gordon Primeaux, a 63-year-old man from Marty, has been sentenced to 24 months in federal prison for stabbing a victim with a knife three times on or about August 22, 2020.

According to court documents, Primeaux, with intent to do bodily harm to the victim, committed the heinous act. The incident was investigated by the Yankton Sioux Tribe and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Ann M. Hoffman prosecuting the case.

Primeaux was indicted by a federal grand jury on October 6, 2020, and subsequently pled guilty on June 10, 2021. The conviction led to the severe sentence, which also includes three years of supervised release and a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.

U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier delivered the sentence on September 14, 2021. Primeaux was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service, bringing an end to his freedom.
