Jerry Summers, Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Manufacturing, New Hampshire 2024

MANCHESTER, NH – Jerry Summers, 44, of Manchester, is facing serious federal charges after authorities uncovered a sophisticated counterfeit pill operation. The bust, the result of a months-long investigation, reveals a brazen scheme to manufacture and distribute fake pharmaceutical pills laced with fentanyl and methamphetamine, preying on vulnerable addicts and endangering the public.

According to charging documents unsealed today, Summers was charged with one count of manufacturing a controlled substance (fentanyl and methamphetamine), two counts of distribution of a controlled substance, one count of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, and trafficking in a drug while using a counterfeit drug mark. U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young announced the charges, signaling a zero-tolerance approach to the proliferation of these deadly fakes.

The operation wasn’t hidden in some back alley. Summers ran the pill press out of an office suite rented under the name “Summertime Drywall and Maintenance LLC” – a clear attempt to mask the illegal activity. On July 1, 2024, the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Clandestine Laboratory Team raided the suite, discovering a pill press coated in residue and surrounded by colored tablets. Lab tests confirmed the presence of both fentanyl and amphetamines, a lethal combination.

This wasn’t a one-time deal. Investigators revealed that Summers had already sold counterfeit pills to a confidential informant on two separate occasions. On March 21, 2024, he peddled blue pills marked as OxyContin, which tested positive for fentanyl. A month later, on April 10, 2024, he sold both blue ‘OxyContin’ pills (again, fentanyl) and orange pills marked as Adderall – which turned out to be methamphetamine. Summers was essentially selling poison, disguised as legitimate medication.

The DEA and Manchester Police Department spearheaded the investigation, working tirelessly to dismantle this operation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Geoffrey W.R. Ward is now tasked with building a case against Summers, seeking a conviction that will keep this dangerous operator off the streets. Summers’ next court appearance is scheduled for July 8, 2024.

It’s crucial to remember that these are allegations at this stage. Summers is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. However, the evidence uncovered so far paints a grim picture of a calculated effort to profit from addiction and put lives at risk. Grimy Times will continue to follow this case and report on the unfolding details.
