Mannie Lamar Terry, Fentanyl Distribution, West Virginia 2023

BECKLEY, W.Va. – In a stunning turn of events, Mannie Lamar Terry, 37, also known as “Primo” and “J,” from Ypsilanti, Michigan, has pleaded guilty to distributing fentanyl in West Virginia.

Court documents and statements reveal that on February 27, 2023, Terry sold approximately 4.5 grams of fentanyl for $300 to an informant in Beckley. He also confessed to selling another 4.5 grams of the deadly substance for $300 on March 13, 2023.

Terry is now facing a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a $1 million fine, setting an October 25, 2024, sentencing date.

United States Attorney Will Thompson announced the plea and praised the diligent work of the Beckley/Raleigh County Drug and Violent Crime Unit, comprised of officers from the West Virginia State Police, the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department, and the Beckley Police Department.

The hearing was presided over by United States Magistrate Judge Omar J. Aboulhosn, with Assistant United States Attorney Brian D. Parsons handling the prosecution.
