CONCORD – A Manchester woman has been hit with a federal rap sheet for her alleged role in a sinister animal crush video ring.
Lynn Seymour, 51, of Manchester, is now facing one count of distribution of animal crush videos and one count of conspiracy, according to U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan. Seymour appeared in court today and was released on bail as the case unfolds.
The indictment claims Seymour was the mastermind behind private online groups that swapped disturbing footage of animals, including monkeys, being subjected to torture, murder, and sexual abuse. The groups are said to have counted hundreds of members.
For her alleged role in this macabre trade, Seymour faces up to seven years for the distribution charge and another five for conspiracy. If convicted, she could also be hit with supervised release for up to three years and fines totaling $250,000.
The FBI and USDA Office of Inspector General led the investigation into Seymour’s alleged activities. Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles L. Rombeau is now in charge of the prosecution.
As per the court documents, the charges against Seymour are mere allegations. She is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
