Matthew Scott Beal, Child Pornography, Iowa 2025

DES MOINES, Iowa – The grim reaper of innocence met its due on September 10, 2025, when Matthew Scott Beal, a sinister figure from Oskaloosa, was condemned to serve 18 years behind bars for the heinous crime of sexual exploitation of a child.

In a court document that read like an exposé of the dark web’s seedy underbelly, it was revealed that the 42-year-old Beal had produced lurid child pornography featuring a minor. His malevolent intent didn’t stop there; Beal also utilized the digital highway to disseminate four videos of kiddie porn to an undercover agent from Homeland Security’s Newark Child Exploitation Task Force.

But it was when law enforcement executed a search warrant at Beal’s Oskaloosa residence that they struck gold. The pervert’s phone, a trove of罪恶, held over 100 images and videos depicting the innocence of prepubescent children ensnared in sex acts with adults.

After his release from prison, the predator will be shackled by a five-year term of supervised release—a sentence as enduring as the pain he has caused. There’s no parole for monsters like Beal in the federal system. The court also demanded $15,938.50 in restitution to the innocent victims he desecrated.

United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal, representing the Southern District of Iowa, issued the chilling announcement. This case was a joint effort by the Department of Homeland Security’s Newark Child Exploitation Group, the Oskaloosa Police Department, and the Iowa Department of Public Safety Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Project Safe Childhood, a federal initiative to combat child exploitation and abuse since 2006, brought this despicable case to justice. For more information on this nationwide effort, visit here.
