Marc Allen Davis Guilty of Firearm and Drug Trafficking in Salt Lake City

A federal jury has delivered a guilty verdict against Marc Allen Davis, a 52-year-old man from Ogden, Utah, for his involvement in firearm and drug trafficking in the District of Utah.

The jury made the announcement after a two-day trial, which presented evidence that Davis possessed a loaded firearm, over 500 grams of methamphetamine, and a taser during a traffic stop in Roy, Utah, on March 13, 2021.

According to court documents, Davis, a twice-convicted felon, was restricted from possessing firearms or ammunition. Despite this restriction, law enforcement found the loaded firearm during the traffic stop, which further solidified the case against him.

The case is being investigated jointly by the Roy City Police Department and the Weber Morgan Narcotics Strike Force. United States Attorney Trina A. Higgins made the announcement, stating that her office is committed to reducing gun violence and other violent crime in the community.

The prosecution team, consisting of Special Assistant United States Attorney Branden Miles and Assistant United States Attorney Maria Mooers-Putzer, will now focus on sentencing. Sentencing is scheduled to take place before U.S. District Court Judge Howard C. Nielson, Jr. at the Orrin G. Hatch United States District Courthouse in downtown Salt Lake City on a date yet to be determined.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing gun violence and other violent crime.
