Mariano Gabriel-Gabriel, Unlawful Reentry of Removed Alien, Oklahoma 2023

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Mariano Gabriel-Gabriel, also known as Mariana Gabriel and Gabriel Mariano, a 28-year-old Mexican national, has pleaded guilty to one count of Unlawful Reentry of Removed Alien in the Eastern District of Oklahoma. The charge stems from Gabriel-Gabriel’s presence in the United States after being removed in 2017 without obtaining consent for reapplication.

The investigation leading to this plea was conducted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division. Gabriel-Gabriel, who was found in the U.S. on June 30, 3035, now faces a term of imprisonment not exceeding two years and a fine of up to $250,000.

This case is a pivotal part of Operation Take Back America, a broad initiative targeting illegal immigration and the elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations. The operation leverages resources from various Department of Justice task forces and programs.

Judge Jason A. Robertson accepted the plea and has ordered a presentence investigation report to be completed. Gabriel-Gabriel will remain in custody pending sentencing, with a U.S. District Court Judge determining the final sentence based on guidelines and statutory factors.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Dak T. Cohen represented the United States in this case. The harsh plea comes as authorities continue to crack down on illegal immigration and the related criminal networks.
