Mark A. Crump, Assault in Aid of Racketeering, Missouri 2023

A member of the Pagan’s Motorcycle Club has been brought to justice after pleading guilty to assaulting a rival motorcycle club member in Kansas City, Missouri.

Mark A. Crump, 55, of Lee’s Summit, Mo., pleaded guilty to one count of assault resulting in serious bodily injury in aid of racketeering in U.S. District Court.

The crime took place on July 20, 2023, at a bar and grill in North Kansas City, Mo. Crump, along with Jarrid A. Hammer and another Pagan’s member, assaulted a lone rival motorcycle gang member.

The victim suffered severe injuries, including a head contusion, rib fracture, hemothorax, left pulmonary contusion, pneumothorax, and a traumatic brain injury.

Crump and the other assailants fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, but were later identified and brought to justice.

Hammer, who also pleaded guilty to the assault, is awaiting sentencing.

Under federal statutes, Crump is subject to a sentence of up to 20 years in prison without parole.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Bradley K. Kavanaugh and Robert Smith, and was investigated by the FBI, the Independence Police Department, the Blue Springs Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Kansas City Police Department.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation, which aims to identify, disrupt, and dismantle high-level criminal organizations threatening the United States.
