Gang Member Pleads Guilty to Murder and Racketeering in New York

A member of a violent street gang based in the Bronx has pleaded guilty to murder and racketeering charges.

According to court documents, Elijah Davila, also known as ‘Montana,’ was a member of the Taylor Avenue Crew, a gang that operated primarily in the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx. The gang was involved in various crimes, including murder, attempted murder, and narcotics sales.

Davila pleaded guilty to participating in the murder of Pablo Beard, which occurred on March 3, 2015, near 1504 Leland Avenue in the Bronx. He also admitted to committing a firearms offense and participating in racketeering and narcotics conspiracies.

As part of his guilty plea, Davila faces a mandatory minimum term of 40 years in prison and a maximum term of life in prison. He is set to be sentenced on July 13, 2017, before United States District Judge Katherine Polk Failla.

The case was handled by the Office’s Violent and Organized Crime Unit, with Assistant United States Attorneys Scott Hartman, Jessica Lonergan, and Jason Swergold leading the prosecution.

The New York City Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and Homeland Security Investigations also assisted in the case.

The Bronx County District Attorney’s Office provided support and participated in the case.
