Local Woman Faces Prison Time for Hydrocodone Distribution

A 44-year-old Martin woman has pleaded guilty to distributing a controlled substance, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office. Belinda Dubray admitted to selling hydrocodone with acetaminophen on September 7, 2012.

The maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years of imprisonment and/or a $500,000 fine. Dubray will face a judge on July 12, 2013, for sentencing. A presentence investigation has been ordered.

The investigation into Dubray’s activities was conducted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs Office of Justice Services, the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety, the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force, the Martin Police Department, and the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura A. Shattuck. The defendant is currently being held in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending sentencing.

The sale of hydrocodone with acetaminophen is a serious offense, and the U.S. Attorney’s office is committed to holding individuals accountable for their actions.
