PITTSBURGH, PA – In a shocking turn of events, Martin Zazueta-Villa, a 29-year-old former resident of Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico, has been hit with a federal grand jury indictment for violating federal drug laws in Western Pennsylvania.
According to the indictment, on or about June 16, 2022, Zazueta-Villa knowingly possessed with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of fentanyl, and 500 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine.
The indictment, handed down by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh, charges Zazueta-Villa with a single count of violating federal drug laws.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of not less than 10 years in prison, a fine of not more than $10,000,000.00 or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney Katherine C. Jordan is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The Department of Homeland Security/Homeland Security Investigations conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
